Book Prayers, Please

I'm only about less than 10 devotionals from being DONE with my current manuscript and being able to query publishers, but I have hit a motivation slump (not really "writer's block," just loss of focus) and done basically no new work on the book since October. Please pray for renewed motivation and inspiration to finish well.

Coping With Tradgy

In light today's (and other recent) shootings, I have no words. I direct you to a prayer, posted today by Max Lucado, saying (in very small part),
Herod went on a rampage, killing babies. Joseph took you and your mom into Egypt. You were an immigrant before you were a Nazarene.
Oh, Lord Jesus, you entered the dark world of your day. Won't you enter ours? We are weary of bloodshed. We, like the wise men, are looking for a star. We, like the shepherds, are kneeling at a manger.
Read this Christmas Prayer in full at www.huffingtonpost.com/max-lucado/a-christmas-prayer_2_b_2302548.html .

More resources offered here.

And taken from Facebook (I wish I knew where to credit to creator of this image, though I got it off the HSLDA FB page), this pretty well sums up what I'm feeling right now:

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. - Psalm 34:18

Writing Update

I am in one of the last legs pushing to finish this book that I hope to submit to a publisher for consideration by the end of the year. Please pray for wisdom, clarity, God's timing, and protection of my family. Thanks!

Writing without my full, previous cognitive function or sharp memory (StrokeofGrace.blogspot  for details if you don't know why I say this) is an interesting experience!

Butterfly

Love this story about darkness and incubation. I think in terms of planting and harvest (a seed buried in darkness before it sprouts), but here is the same idea in the form of a butterfly.

Dying to Self

I love these thoughts on death to Self (and all that is not love) from a lady named Jennifer, self-described as an atheist-to-Christian convert.

Choosing Joy

One of my favorite explanations of the work of the Holy Spirit is this one about God's sufficient grace and his steady work, quietly, like the changing of seasons.

strokes

Last fall, Oct. 2011, I experienced multiple strokes with brain-stem involvement. I have vision loss, hearing loss, a partially paralized hand, and I cannot walk, so I have trouble reading or typing. I am posting updates at http://infertilitymom.blogspot.com/search/label/stroke if you wish to receive news. I am working on my devotional book and covet your prayers. I will resume post to this blog when I am able. I also invite you to join me at https://www.facebook.com/HarvestingHope .
